Everyone is welcome to invite artists to submit work in the Comikaze Submission Day event at the UAA Student Union Gallery. The event is sponsored by the UAA Art Student Association and is a juried exhibition of comic-themed and sequential illustration art.

Comikaze is open to UAA students and other Alaska artists. Entries must have been completed within the last three years and have not been previously exhibited in any UAA Student Union Gallery exhibition. Limit of three entries per person. Works accepted in all media. The ASA is looking for sequential illustration that tells a story and we invite entrants to interpret the theme using a broad spectrum of mediums, not just the traditional pen and paper. The ASA will only accept entries that are dropped off in person, no mail-in entries. All pieces must arrive ready to hang or display.

The juror is Brett Uher, an Alaska artist/illustrator. He is most notably associated with Tokypop for his work illustrating the graphic novel Dark Moon Diary, by Che Gilson. He has also been a guest at one of Alaska's biggest anime and game conventions, Aurora-Con, two years in a row.

The entry fee is $5 for students with a UAA ID and $7 for all others. A Best of Show prize of $100 will be awarded.

Watch for updates at the Comikaze Submission Facebook page and MySpace page. If you have questions, please contact organizers at uaa.asa@gmail.com.
