Bernardo Alvarez Herrera became ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
to the U.S. on Jan. 27, 2003. In that capacity, Ambassador Alvarez emerged as an effective
and well-respected diplomat, navigating the complexities of Washington and traveling
widely throughout the U.S. to describe Venezuela's Bolivarian Revolution and to create
links between the people of the United States and Venezuela.
