Gun protest

A peaceful protest was held on UAA's campus yesterday, Wednesday, April 28, in the Cuddy Quad. UAA students as well as individuals not affiliated with UAA gathered to protest the University of Alaska Board of Regents' Policy and University Regulation (http://www.alaska.edu/bor/policy-regulations/) prohibiting the carrying of firearms on University of Alaska campuses.

An estimated two dozen protesters gathered to share their 2nd Amendment beliefs in an effort to change the current University policy on weapons possession on campus. Four individuals carried guns; all four gun-carrying protestors were issued a Notice of Regulation Violation before leaving campus.

Once the violations were issued, the group of protestors moved to an off-campus sidewalk along Providence Drive to continue the peaceful demonstration.
