Planetarium shows for spring 2010
by Kathleen McCoy |
Due to the popularity of the public shows in UAA's Planetarium and Visualization Theater, more shows are available! Shows will be offered in the evening of every second and fourth Friday of the month. Each show will last roughly an hour, featuring a 22-minute show, either "Heart of the Sun" or "Two Small Pieces of Glass" followed by a live tour of the night sky, the Solar System or whatever you would like to see! Remaining show dates are:
- Friday, April 9, 8 p.m. - "Heart of the Sun" with Dr. Travis Rector
- Friday, April 23, 7 p.m. - "Heart of the Sun" with Dr. Andrew Puckett
- Friday, April 23, 8:30 p.m. - "Heart of the Sun" with Dr. Andrew Puckett
- Friday, May 14, 7 p.m. - "Two Small Pieces of Glass" with Dr. Travis Rector
- Friday, May 28, 7 p.m. - "Two Small Pieces of Glass" with Dr. Andrew Puckett
Please note that this schedule may need to change. If the demand is high enough, we will work to offer additional shows. Shows are free for current UAA Planetarium members, $10 for adults and $5 for UAA students (with a valid ID) and $5 for children (4-18 years). Because the theater is dark and can be scary for young children, we do not recommend bringing kids under the age of 4. You can now purchase or reserve seats online at UAATix.
