Annual evacuation exercises are scheduled for the week of Aug. 30, 2010

by Kathleen McCoy  |

During the week of Aug. 30, the University Police Department Office of Emergency Management will be conducting evacuation drills in all the academic buildings on or near the Anchorage campus. Residence halls will be drilled separately. All building occupants should immediately evacuate using the nearest exit whenever the alarm sounds. Meet with your office group or class in the Emergency Assembly Area identified in the Building Emergency Plan (see your Building and Safety Coordinator for a copy). Report anyone who failed to evacuate to an official in uniform or traffic safety vest. Unless told otherwise, it is generally safe to return to the building when the alarms are silenced.

Please advise UAA's Emergency Manager, Lt. Ron Swartz, at (907) 786-1149 of any day(s) during this period when such a drill would be unreasonably disruptive due to a scheduled critical event.
