August 2010: Status update on the Spirit Drive/Providence Drive upgrade

The Municipality of Anchorage had a pre-construction conference for the Spirit Drive/Providence Drive signal project on July 28. The project scope of work includes the signal installation, widening of entrance into Spirit Drive, construction of several bus stops along Providence Drive near Spirit Drive, and the installation of new sidewalks along Providence Drive.
In support of the signal project, the UAA Health Sciences Building (HSB) project and the Providence Hospital backup power project, ML&P will be installing underground conduit, vaults and cabling for power near the intersection of Providence Drive and Spirit Drive.
Cornerstone Construction Company continues to install the telecommunications infrastructure to connect the HSB to the campus and the sidewalk along Seawolf Drive. They will be completing their work within the next few weeks. However, ML&P and other MOA contractors may be working in the area near the south east corner of the South Parking Lot.
