Meet Dallas Goldtooth, of the 1491s, who will talk about filmmaking as a modern form
of storytelling. The 1491s use satire and comedy as a means to engage the public on
various issues affecting Native people today, creating spaces for open, social dialogue.
Be ready to laugh out loud, learn how to confront stereotypes, and produce online
films! If you're inspired to make films after this, stay longer and start the process!
The 1491s are a collective of Native writers, performers, poets and filmmakers who
have created a firestorm of dialogue in Indian Country, using social media and the
Internet as their primary medium. Look them up online at YouTube.
