New walkway planned between Library and CPISB

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Facilities Planning and Construction will replace the old parking between the UAA/APU Consortium Library and the ConocoPhillips Integrated Science Building (CPISB). The existing parking lot is old and has been modified several times, making drainage less than ideal, as well as being awkward for pedestrian access between the two facilities.

To that end, FP and C will install a lighted pedestrian walkway from the existing Pay N' Park to the west side of the CPISB "turn around." This walkway will provide a dedicated, safe space for pedestrian traffic, without having to cross through the very busy active parking spaces in that area.

Demolition of the old lot will begin on Monday, July 23, with the paving and walkway completed by the time classes start. Any questions can be directed to Eric Lopez at (907) 632-8009.
