Ethics Bowl: register Oct. 10-24The Seawolf Debate Program and the UAA Department of Philosophy are pleased to bring you the third annual University of Alaska Ethics Bowl. Inaugurated in 2011 by the University of Alaska Fairbanks' Socratic Society, the tournament this year returns to Anchorage on Oct. 27 for the third incarnation.

The Ethics Bowl offers the opportunity for undergraduates to apply their knowledge of argument and ethics to case studies in a competitive environment designed to test reasoning, advocacy and critical thinking. Information about the competition, adjudication criteria, training materials and registration can be found on the Seawolf Debate website.

Registration for the event is open to teams comprised of undergraduate students currently enrolled at any university in the state of Alaska. The registration period will open on Wednesday, Oct. 10, and close on Wednesday, Oct. 24, but cases are now posted online for competitors who want to get a head start. Faculty and staff who are interested in serving as judges are also encouraged to register as judges--no experience necessary!
