Margritt Engel's Alaska photo album: Bush travels in the '70s, March 28
by Michelle Saport |
Thursday, March 28, 5-7 p.m.
UAA Campus Bookstore
In the early '70s, Alaska Methodist University contracted with the federal and state
governments to provide certain educational services that were carried out by AMU faculty
and staff on an uncompensated overload basis. Since all of these called for travel
to Bush communities and Air Force remote sites, Margritt Engel volunteered to participate.
Everyone is invited to hear Margritt Engel, Professor Emerita in the UAA Languages Department, share her stories and photographs about rural Alaska in the '70s.
This event is free and open to the public, with free parking in the South Lot, the lot across from the bookstore. For more information, contact Rachel Epstein, repstein2@uaa.alaska.edu or (907) 786-4782, or visit the bookstore website.
