Summer 2013: Access to the UC during Old Seward Hwy. resurfacing

by Michelle Saport  |

Rehabilitation of the Old Seward Highway by the Municipality of Anchorage began in June and will continue through late fall with several projects affecting access to UAA's University Center (UC), home of the One Stop for students as well as headquarters for several programs. Be sure to allow yourself a few extra minutes when traveling to the UC and keep your eyes open for changing traffic patterns.

For anyone traveling to or from the UC at night, be aware that pavement rotomilling will be underway in the coming week, July 15-19. All rotomilling work has been scheduled at night to minimize traffic disruptions.

Throughout July, the building contractor will be installing storm drainpipe linings, which means single-lane closures. Work on curbs and sidewalks at various intersections will also be underway to support installation of ADA compliant ramps.

There is a planned closure of the intersection at Old Seward Hwy. and 40th Ave. the weekend of July 20-21.
