Deadline for new and revised course and lab fees for spring 2014 is Oct. 18

Please be advised that the deadline for all new and revised course fees (including lab fees) for the spring 2014 semester is Friday, Oct. 18, 2013. When considering and proposing new and revised fees, please use University Regulation 05.10.070 as guidance, as well as the UAA Course Fee Policy posted on the Office of Academic Affairs website. Forms must be received in Academic Affairs by close of business on Oct. 18. Please submit them to Maria Stroth at mastroth@uaa.alaska.edu.

This deadline is intended to comply with University Regulation 05.10.070, which states:

"Fees must be established far enough in advance to be published in the semester course schedule. No unpublished fees or fee increases shall be charged to students, unless the reason for not publishing the fee was beyond the control of the department receiving the proceeds and the fee or fee increase is specifically authorized by the respective chancellor."

Since UAA is moving away from printed schedules, the deadline is now based on the date the semester schedule is available for students to view on UAOnline. The deadlines for future semesters are:

Spring semester 2014 - Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 Summer semester 2014 - Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 Fall semester 2014 - Friday, March 14, 2014
