The Faculty Technology Center (FTC) will offer the following workshops the week of Oct. 7-11:

Open Lab Monday, Oct. 7, 9-11 a.m. UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 214 or via Blackboard Collaborate

Open Lab time for instructors to get assistance from FTC's instructional designers. No registration necessary to attend.

Lecture Capture 101 Tuesday, Oct. 8, 10-11:15 a.m. UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 214 or online via Blackboard Collaborate

A lecture capture can be as simple as an audio recording made with an iPod. In a broader sense though, the term also refers to software capture programs that record cursor movement, typing and other on-screen activity. Come explore some of the most popular lecture capture options available.

Blackboard Groups/Group Assignments Wednesday, Oct. 9, 10-11:30 a.m. Rasmuson Hall, Room 215 or via Blackboard Collaborate

This 90-minute workshop will cover how to create group assignments that deepen and enhance learning, understanding and critical thinking skills, as well as tips to master setting up groups using the Blackboard tools.

Effective Web Meetings: Google Hangouts Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1-2:15 p.m. Google Hangouts

Learn tools, tips and techniques for facilitating live web meetings for your courses, whether for weekly online class meetings or online office hours.
