William Overbaugh, doctoral candidate in UAA/UAF's biological sciences program, will defend his thesis, "The Role of Recreation in Building Community Resilience and Adaptive Capacity."

Abstract: Conceptual connections between Resilience and Recreation Theories will be discussed and the research project presented to define the recreation diversity/community resilience relationship for neighborhoods in the Anchorage Bowl.
