Prior to its recent renovation, Beatrice McDonald Hall was a dimly lit outpost on the original campus quad. Now, it’s positively glowing—the walls, the art and even the furniture are illuminated. Coupled with a signature sun-soaked three-story atrium, the new McDonald Hall is a testament to the powers of renovation.

Snow or no snow, winter demands our attention. UAA offers plenty of February fun with Winterfest, all over campus, and the second Winter Design Project, all over the Cuddy Quad. So step up and get yourself some hygge.

Desiree's family moved from the Dominican Republic to Alaska when she was 10. She got her first taste of classroom-learning when enrolled in the Anchorage School District. She caught up quickly and realized, "I just wanted to continue without stopping."

Diego Barros doesn't shy away from new experiences—he's immersed himself in art, a variety of sciences, writing, snowboarding, travel. He won Sigma Sigma Sigma's "Mr. UAA" honor in October and now is off to a new adventure.
