Spring 2015: CTC tuition waiver application period now open

by Michelle Saport  |

Deadline: Friday, April 10, 5 p.m.

About the CTC Tuition Waiver Program The Community & Technical College (CTC) awards a limited number of tuition waivers each year in support of student success. The focus of the tuition waiver program is to assist qualified students who are close to completing certificates or degrees. These competitive awards are open to continuing CTC students in good standing. There are two separate competition cycles each year during the fall and spring semester.

What is a CTC tuition waiver? A tuition waiver is not a grant of cash but instead waives tuition charges for approved courses during the semester of the award. Waivers do not waive fees or other costs (e.g., living expenses, textbooks, etc.). A waiver is applied to the student's UAA account by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. Tuition waivers can be used only for courses offered through the UAA Main Campus and Chugiak-Eagle River Campus. Waivers can only be applied to courses required for certificates or degrees.

Application and instructions are available on the CTC website. Students may also schedule an appointment with Heather Brekke, majors advisor, in the CTC Advising Center to gain valuable advice on how to apply.
