Thursday, Oct. 8, 4:30-5:45 p.m. Sally Monserud Hall, Room 103

Take the first step in planning for an international educational experience as part of your UAA degree program-attend a Study Abroad 101 information session!

Whether your interests lie in the Arctic or southern Africa, Europe or the Middle East, Asia, Oceania, or South America, a quality education abroad opportunity through UAA is your passport to the world. Develop global awareness and intercultural competence to succeed in today's world while earning credit toward graduation and using your federal financial aid and qualifying scholarships to help pay for it.

Opportunities abroad include internships, service learning, field studies, research, and shipboard education, in addition to language immersion. Language study is encouraged, though there are a host of options offered in English, even in non-English-speaking countries. Including international experiences such as these in your education will help you achieve the gains embodied in UAA's International and Intercultural Learning Outcomes.

Monday's session may be the last one before the start of the fall semester. Begin planning NOW (at least 9-12 months in advance) for YOUR experience of a lifetime! Come learn about the wide variety of exciting options in more than 60 countries, factors to think about in choosing a program, the important role of your Academic Advisor, budget considerations, how financial aid and scholarships can help pay for your experience, and your next steps.
