Beloved math professor Dr. Ping-Tung 'P.T.' Chang passes

Dr. Ping-Tung "P.T." Chang, 80, died March 10, 2016 in Palmer. He worked at UAA from 1988-2014. As a math teacher, he was known for tirelessly working on the UAA Diversity Committee and fostering his own "Grow Your Own Problem Solving Approach" focused on meeting students' needs.

He was awarded the 2010 U.S. Professor of the Year award by the Council for Advancement and Education (CASE), as well as the 2001 and 2009 Alaska State Professor of the Year. UAA honored him with emeritus status in 2014.
