UAA staff and faculty are invited to a free interprofessional education (IPE) workshop, "The Missing Piece in IPE Teaching: Facilitation Skills Within and Across Professions," presented by Mayumi Willgerodt, Ph.D., R.N., and Jennifer Danielson, Pharm.D.
This interactive workshop will provide an overview of facilitation theory and common challenges often experienced by faculty, particularly when facilitating interprofessional learners. Participants will have the opportunity to observe and evaluate a series of vignettes that will spark discussion on effective strategies to enhance mutually respectful and meaningful learning in our students, after which they will role-play common coaching scenarios.
This workshop will provide attendees with the knowledge and experience to:
- Describe principles of group facilitation;
- Discuss common challenges and effective strategies in facilitating interprofessional groups; and
- Apply effective coaching techniques in common interprofessional teaching situations.
