The UAA Center for Behavioral Health Research and Services' Arctic SBIRT Training is pleased to offer a free interactive Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) workshop to UAA faculty, staff and community members.This workshop will enable the participant to:
- Describe what SBIRT is and its purpose
- Conduct a screening for alcohol use using a standardized screening tool
- Describe and conduct a brief intervention using Motivational Interviewing core skills and concepts
- Discuss referral to treatment and other avenues of support
- Faculty: Use this curriculum in the classroom with students
