KBC hosts Festival of Literary Readings in conjunction with writers' conference - June 10–12, 2017
The Festival of Literary Readings, in conjunction with the 16th annual Kachemak Bay Writers’ Conference, will be held the evenings of June 10-12 in Homer. Sixteen nationally-recognized visiting and Alaskan novelists, essayists and poets will read from their work each evening.
Summer 2017: English Conversation Group meetings
The English Conversation Group at the UAA Learning Commons is an informal get-together for people who want to practice their conversational English skills. The group meets every Wednesday and Friday, noon–1 p.m., in Sally Monserud Hall, Room 115.

Alumni Drive closure - June 12–25, 2017
From June 12 to June 25, Alumni Drive will be closed between the Fine Arts Building and the Administration/Humanities Building. This closure is to accommodate repair work to campus storm drains. The Fine Arts Building and East Lot will be accessible from the north.
Passion for Spanish, mentoring motivates Fulbright winner
As a baby, Nicole listened to her step-grandmother speaking Spanish to relatives back home. Now, the UAA English-and-economics alumna is an adult whose passion for the language will soon bring her to Asturias, Spain, as a Fulbright English teaching assistant.
