The Alaska PEAK Supervisor Orientation is open to all supervisors of student-employees wanting to apply or learn more about
the Alaska PEAK (Purposeful Engagement, Assessing Knowledge) framework for managing
the on-campus student employment experience. Two orientation sessions are currently
planned for January 2018:
Thursday, Jan. 11, 3-4 p.m. Engineering & Industry Building, Room 413
Monday, Jan. 29, 3-4 p.m. Engineering & Industry Building, Room 413
Alaska PEAK leverages reflective learning and relationship building between student employees and their supervisors. Since its establishment in 2015, the program has since evolved into a robust management framework that helps supervisors elevate on-campus student employment into an intentional and high-impact practice that enhances students' personal development, professional growth, and academic success.The Alaska PEAK program provides:
- A structure for meaningful interactions to occur between supervisors and student employees;
- A venue for students to reflect and create connections between learning occurring in the classroom and through on-campus employment; and
- Opportunities for students to gain skills that will be valuable to future employment.
The Alaska PEAK Supervisor Orientation will provide attendees with a program overview, access to the Alaska PEAK Blackboard site, and resources to help set up on-campus student-employees for success!
