Graduate research project seeks student interviewees—please share

by Michelle Saport  |

Dear UAA Faculty and Staff,

Please let students know about the project below.  This project is conducted in collaboration with UAA and community organizations to improve the connection between students who have experienced sexual violence and available resources. I will be conducting interviews with past and present students through the month of December. If time permits, I would love to take a minute at the beginning of class periods to do an "elevator pitch" to reach students. Please contact me to schedule. You may also pass my contact information along to any students interested in participating in the study or with questions. See my recruitment message below. Please also share on social media or on a listerv. Thank you very much.

Have you experienced sexual misconduct or sexual assault during your time as a student at UAA? Master's student research project gives voice to survivors to improve students' connection to vital reporting options and support services. Seeking student participants willing to consent to a 60-minute confidential interview about why or why not they choose to report or access services. Compensation includes entry into a random drawing for iPad. Seeking students of all backgrounds with respect to gender, age, sexual orientation, and experience. Interested parties contact Hilary Huffman at (907) 764-5955 or hchuffman@alaska.edu.
