Within their first weeks on campus, diesel power technology freshmen were tinkering away on a 8.3-liter engine destined to groom the slopes at Arctic Valley Ski Area.
Six engineering students designed a snowmaking system for their senior capstone last year. The project, a partnership with Anchorage Ski Club, may just bring World Cup-caliber skiing to the mountains behind campus.
