Seawolf Shuttle drivers celebrate three years accident-free

The UAA Seawolf Shuttle drivers are celebrating a huge milestone. Drivers have logged more than 200,000 miles over the past three years, without a single accident. Congratulations Nick, Don, Richard, Judy, Kate, Larry, Janeen, Robert and Dani!

Bacteria are on the menu in Experiential Learning: Microbial Biology. Students in the upper-level biology course took a mid-semester break to chop sauerkraut and cultivate yogurt, all while learning how bacteria plays a role in the kitchen. Germ appétit!

West Campus water offline due to blown fire hydrant

West Campus water is offline as of March 5, 2018 due to a blown fire hydrant. Please be aware of this as you come onto campus today. UAA Facilities is coordinating with a local contractor to complete the repair as quickly as possible.

2018 Jazz Festival at UAA is March 7-10

The UAA Department of Music is proud to present the 2018 Jazz Festival. This year's guest artists include trumpeter Keith Karns, percussionist Zach Compston and keyboardist Tony Martin. In addition to the concerts held on March 9 and 10, there will be free (or almost free) concerts on March 7 and 8.

UA Press releases new Alaska Literary Series titles

The University of Alaska Press has released "Entangled: People and Ecological Change in Alaska’s Kachemak Bay" by Marilyn Sigman, "In the Quiet Season and Other Stories" by Martha Amore and "Just Between Us" by David McElroy. Read more about these new titles.

March 7, 2018: PageUp Performance Management Tool Training

The University of Alaska (UA) has implemented a new performance management tool through PageUp, UA’s recruitment system that replaced UAKJobs. UAA employees are invited to attend training on this new tool March 7, 2018, in the Gorsuch Commons.

A little paint goes a long way when sprucing up UAA’s Gear Room

UAA’s Gear Room got a much needed facelift over the holiday break thanks to two students who painted a landscape mural on the main wall of UAA’s outdoor equipment rental room.

Cuddy Marketplace now open again

Due to a broken water main, Cuddy Marketplace is closed starting March 5, 2018 and until further notice. The Daily Grind is open with limited service and hours. All other campus dining locations are not impacted by this water break and remain open.
