Members of UAA’s Seawolf Debate Program dominated the 2018 U.S. University Western Regional Championships, hosted by Pacific Lutheran University March 24–26. UAA fielded the winning and runner-up teams, as well as the top individual speakers.

Carolyn Knackstedt talks about what inspired her to pursue a career in medicine, and how attending her first Pre-Med Summit opened a new world of possibilities. This year's Summit takes place Saturday, April 7, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at UAA’s Rasmuson Hall.

Last month, eight student-leaders headed to Juneau to advocate for their 16,000 classmates in Anchorage. Student Body President Alec Burris and Vice President Geser Bat-Erdene talk about the fly-in, their message to legislators, and the value of student advocacy.

Higher education: Teaching teachers with drones

Drones can play a major role in education, but someone has to teach the teachers first. Thanks to a partnership with UAA, teachers can study drones and earn professional development credits toward their teaching license thanks to a tailored course from alumni-owned Advanced Aerial Education.
