April 5, 2018: Enjoy a night of pop culture, comedy and sound financial advice with Colin Ryan
by Michelle Saport |
April is Financial Literacy Month and the UAA Office of Financial Aid is planning
a week of literacy-related workshops and special events the first week of April. The headlining event, Colin Ryan, comedian and financial advisor, will be at the Wendy Williamson for a night of comedy and sound financial advice
on Thursday, April 5. Colin uses pop culture as reference points to make managing
money as entertaining and as straightforward as possible. He makes dry-yet-essential
subject matter-like planning for the future, understanding the danger of credit cards,
spending less money and building a budget-come to life. Colin gets audiences engaged
and interacting, and leaves them buzzing with ideas on how they can live the life
they want and still pay their bills. This event is free and open to the public, with
free parking in the UAA West Lot. There will be a Financial Literacy Resource Fair
starting at 6 p.m. in the lobby, followed by door prize giveaways and Colin's performance
at 7 p.m.
