UAA’s College of Health awarded $1.77 million from Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska

On Oct. 29, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska announced a total investment of $5.7 million to support access to rural health care in Alaska. UAA will receive a portion of that funding.

2019 Halloween Blood Drive

The UAA Honors College and the Blood Bank of Alaska are teaming up for a Halloween-themed blood drive on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Look for the 'LifeMobile' outside Rasmuson Hall. You can simply drop in or make an appointment by calling (907) 222-5630. Eat well, stay hydrated, and bring your photo ID.

How integral is Providence to Alaska? Not only does the hospital make up the second half of the namesake UMED District, but the organization is the largest non-government employer in the state, naturally resulting in the employment of a large number of UAA nursing alumni.
