On Oct. 29, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska announced a total investment of $5.7 million to support access to rural health care in Alaska. UAA will receive a portion of that funding.

The UAA Honors College and the Blood Bank of Alaska are teaming up for a Halloween-themed blood drive on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Look for the 'LifeMobile' outside Rasmuson Hall. How integral is Providence to Alaska? Not only does the hospital make up the second half of the namesake UMED District, but the organization is the largest non-government employer in the state, naturally resulting in the employment of a large number of UAA nursing alumni.
