Just the Facts: On-site operations plan

UPDATE (MAY 29, 2020): Read the latest news regarding UAA's on-site operations plan.

Dear UAA Community,

I hope you are taking time to enjoy the beautiful Alaska weather. As the landscape transforms with new growth, I realize we continue to learn and grow as well — regardless of our circumstances.

I am pleased to let you know plans are underway to begin expanding on-site campus operations this summer and loosening existing restrictions. The University of Alaska (UA) statewide office, in consultation with the universities, developed a phased framework for re-opening within the university system. This is a positive step toward moving to a mix of remote and face-to-face operations this fall. That said, we are aware that precautions must be taken in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission, and that will shape our campus activities. This is an evolving situation.

Please take a moment to watch this video message and know that I look forward to sharing more information with you in the coming weeks as planning progresses. For more information, visit the statewide coronavirus website.

Sincerely,
Cathy Sandeen
UAA Chancellor
