Knockout November offers free activities for all fitness levels

Knockout November is a series of activities designed by Kinesiology students from HPER to keep the community active and staying healthy during the end of the semester! Physical activity has been proven to have many health benefits and we know the winter can be a hard time to find that motivation to stay physically active, but we have you covered! All you have to do is "Zoom" in and try your best! All activities are designed as follows:

  • No experience required.
  • Equipment optional, but not required.
  • Attend virtually from anywhere you can connect to Zoom and have ample space for your workout.
  • Anyone is able to attend so invite your friends, family, roommates, etc. — just send them the Zoom link!
  • ALL fitness levels welcome to attend. Modifications to all of the exercises will be provided.

 Activities

Squat, Squat, Squat, Stayin' Alive!

Nov. 10, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Going back to the basics. This blend of an activity and workshop-style session will teach proper form and technique when performing a squat which is essential for building strength and reducing the risk of injury during your workouts whether it is weighted or body-weight.


Cardio Boxing

Nov. 12, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

A beginner boxing workout with cardio and core elements. The activity is designed to do something new and have fun so no experience or equipment required and modifications for exercises will be provided! Get ready to "knockout" November!


Upper Body Circuit

Nov. 17, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

An upper-body focused circuit workout. Dumbbells preferred, however, you can use anything around the house with weight you can lift and grasp comfortably in your hand OR no weight at all. Modifications to exercises will be made available. Let's get strong!


Relaxing Office Exercises

Nov. 19, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

A relaxing series of exercises and stretches designed for the office environment.


Push-up Challenge

Nov. 24, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

A workout designed to challenge the muscles of your upper-body and achieve up to 35 push-ups by the end! Modifications will be made available for the 7 different variations of push-ups as well as advanced moves to challenge and "push" yourself further. Practice your push-ups in joining the 22 Push-Up Challenge in November performing 22 push-ups a day for veteran suicide awareness with Mission 22.
