Martin Luther King Day of Service Opportunity

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a federal and state holiday recognizing the birthday of MLK. It is the only federal holiday designated a national day of service, denoted as a “day on, not a day off.”
The MLK Day of Service encourages all Americans to improve our communities through volunteer service. It helps to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, address social problems, and move us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a Beloved Community.
There is a myriad of ways you can provide service to your community on Monday. In Anchorage, if you are looking for a way to serve, the NAACP Anchorage Branch and the Jack and Jill Anchorage Chapter are hosting the Souper Bowl of Caring, a drive-through canned/non-perishable food drive to address food insecurity in our city.
