Job opening: Facilities Planning & Construction Project Manager

The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for providing the professional management of planning, engineering, and construction contracts. As a PM you will have the opportunity to lead teams of diverse professionals including but not limited to Architects, Contractors, Engineers, and stakeholders to complete projects of various sizes and complexities from beginning to end.

Feb. 18: Get active and PLAAY!

Join UAA Kinesiology students live on Facebook at the Healthy Futures Facebook page as they lead fun-filled physical activities fit for the whole family! PLAAY Day is Alaska’s first simultaneous student physical activity event with activities for every age and any fitness level. Schools and other organizations from across the state will offer 30 minutes of organized and synchronized physical activity each week at 10 a.m. starting Feb. 18. Bartlett Lecture Series — Call for Recommendations

The Bartlett Lecture Series Committee is requesting recommendations for a speaker for the 2022 lecture. Please recommend a lecturer whose work involves the promotion of individual freedom and the public good. The deadline for recommendations is March 5 at 5 p.m. The Bartlett Lecture Series Committee will review recommendations on March 12 and select a candidate from the suggested lecturers.

Black Men in White Coats film viewing opportunity

The Alaska AHEC has purchased 300 seats to view the film "Black Men in White Coats" during a three-day viewing window starting Feb. 18 at midnight. You must pre-register to receive your unique viewing code.

Artificial intelligence in the financial world: CBPP AI webinar series #2

The College of Business and Public Policy continues its webinar series on artificial intelligence on Wednesday, Feb. 17 from noon to 1 p.m. with “AI in Finance: Opportunities and Limitations.” Dr. Anureet Saxena, director of quantitative research at McKinley Capital Management, will discuss the role of AI in making investment decisions.

Every year on Feb. 16, we celebrate the life and legacy Alaska Native civil rights activist Elizabeth Peratrovich. The day commemorates the anniversary of Peratrovich's testimony that led to the passage of the groundbreaking Anti-Discrimination Act of 1945. Community celebrations include an Alaska Native Studies Symposia at UAA and a celebration on Facebook Live hosted by First Alaskans Institute.
