Get cozy: Nine in the Spine and Winterfest come home

 For the past eight years, the UAA Alumni Association has hosted the Alumni ParTee: Nine in the Spine. Occurring during the annual Winterfest, Nine in the Spine is one of the major fundraisers supporting the UAA Alumni Scholarship, bringing alumni and community partners back to campus for a night of mini golf across the Spine. 

Unsurprisingly, this year’s Nine in the Spine has been reimagined in light of the ongoing pandemic. With campus closed for in-person events, the Alumni Association has partnered with UAA Student Activities and Commuter Programs to bring Nine in the Spine and Winterfest to a wider audience via virtual events and outdoor activities.

“Welcoming our alumni and friends back to campus is always the highlight of our winter,” said Tanya Pont, director of alumni engagement. “While we’re disappointed that another one of our most treasured in-person events had to be reworked, we continue to look forward to seeing the new ways our community can rally together in support of student success.”

Dubbed This is the Way to Winterfest, this year’s festivities are themed around the hit Star Wars show The Mandalorian and will take place Feb. 22-27. Make a donation and view more events.

Test your knowledge on pop culture and UAA history in a Jeopardy-style online trivia game. Up to 10 teams can battle it out for Seawolf swag bags and other giveaways. Sponsored by Coca-Cola and the Odom Corporation.

Embrace the spirit of Winterfest by getting out (safely) and hitting the slopes at Hilltop Ski Area. Enjoy a special UAA discount for lift tickets and painting Hilltop green and gold.
