Director of Shared Services update

Steven Wildeck will assume the role of Acting Director of UAA Shared Services while the search for a permanent director continues, Interim Vice Chancellor Bill Jacob announced April 12. The appointment is effective immediately.

The appointment of an acting director became necessary after both finalists in the initial search withdrew from further consideration due to their own personal and professional reasons. Wildeck has served as Senior Project Advisor for the UAA Shared Services Implementation Project since September. He recently retired after a long career within the University of Wisconsin System, having served most recently as Executive Director for UW Shared Services.

“Steve is extremely well-suited to continue our shared services momentum,” said Jacob. A permanent director is expected to be named by mid-summer.

After several months of planning, UAA Shared Services officially launched on March 14 to serve as a consolidated provider of administrative services in the areas of human resources, finance, procurement and travel. Throughout the remainder of 2021, UAA Shared Services will focus on its daily support of UAA customers, business process improvement, the development of the UAA Shared Services organization and its work teams, and the creation of a customer experience and satisfaction program.
