USCG Healy Icebreaker

As the Arctic continues to experience changes due to climate change, Jeffery Welker, professor in UAA’s Department of Biological Sciences, is helping lead an international research team aboard the U.S. Coast Guard’s Healy Icebreaker to document and study the dramatic transformation.

Fast Track Certificates 2.0

Last fall, UAA announced its Fast Track Certificate program. This year, the Municipality of Anchorage has collaborated with the university with a $3 million American Rescue Plan Act grant that broadens the scope of the Fast Track program.

Secure your account with multi-factor authentication

In early June, UAA IT Services began to roll out a security enhancement called Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to better protect users and sensitive UAA information from malicious cyber-attacks. Over the past few months, we have seen a significant increase in the number of attempts to access and steal university information by stealing usernames and passwords and gaining access to employee accounts.
