With fall semester in full swing, Chancellor Parnell invites Seawolf staff to connect with him and Cabinet members to kick off the first session of “Conversations with the Chancellor and Cabinet.” Hosted by Staff Council, UAA staff members are invited to join a virtual conversation via Zoom this Friday, Oct. 1, from 1-2 p.m.

Communication is essential as the university continues to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and hybrid work and learning environments. These forums intend to provide the internal campus community with an opportunity to engage with university leadership in an open dialogue about the most pressing current issues. This forum’s session’s topics include the university’s COVID-19 mitigation and overall operating plan, university budget, enrollment and advocacy in the upcoming legislative session. Additional topics submitted by Staff Council members may include telecommuting work schedules, shared services and staff retention, wages and promotions. Further discussion topics, questions and feedback can be submitted to uaa_chancellor@alaska.edu

Future “Conversations with the Chancellor and Cabinet” are currently being scheduled, with the next occurring, Wednesday, Oct. 27, hosted by USUAA. Further communications will be sent regarding additional information on dates, times and Zoom links.
