As 2021 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the year and the incredible strides we have made together as a university community. While the year has certainly posed challenges along with some new reasons for thankfulness, I am continually reminded of your resilience — our students, faculty and staff who persevere and continue the inspiring work of pursuing education, conducting research and contributing to the vitality of our Southcentral Alaska communities.

Enrollment Services Center lobby closed Dec. 20-22

The Enrollment Services Center lobby will be closed from Dec. 20-22. For assistance, please call the Enrollment Services call center at 907-786-1480. Thank you!

Office of the Bursar early closure Wednesday, Dec. 22

The UAA Office of the Bursar - including Cashiering - will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22. Student account payments may be made 24/7 via UAOnline. Departmental deposits are due to Cashiering no later than 10:30 a.m. to ensure they are ready for Axiom pickup prior to the winter break closure.

General Support Services early closure Wednesday, Dec. 22

General Support Services will close early Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m. No afternoon mail routes. All certified, insured, international mail as well as all FedEx and UPS must be to the Mailroom counter by 11:00 a.m. to be processed and go out the same day. USPS mail will be accepted until 1 p.m.

UAA IT Services operations during the AY21-22 Winter Break

UAA Information Technology Services is available to help students, faculty, and staff over the winter break! The IT Technical Support Center (TSC) will be open on select days, and the IT office will be available by appointment.

UAA to receive $2.1M state funding for College of Health

Earlier this week, Gov. Dunleavy announced a modest funding increase for the university, and today we’ve received more good news from the governor’s office. The College of Health will receive $2.1 million from the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund to increase the school’s capacity to train registered nurses.

UAA Cares Campaign for United Way of Anchorage runs through Dec. 17

This year, the UAA Cares United Way of Anchorage Campaign runs from Nov. 17 through Dec. 17. You have the opportunity to donate to any of the United Way of Anchorage member agencies and the many independent nonprofits in the community of your choice; plus there's the United Way of Mat-Su option for those of you living in the Valley.

Alumni of Distinction nominations end Dec.17

UAA alumni are doing great things around the world! Chances are you know one who deserves to be recognized for their amazing work. Celebrate these alumni and honor their important contributions by nominating them for the annual Alumni of Distinction Awards!

Recommend students for Chancellor's MLK Student Appreciation Celebration

The Chancellor's Martin Luther King Jr. Student Appreciation program is an annual event celebrating the many contributions of students who make a difference at UAA. It is an opportunity for the Chancellor to recognize the students you recommend and honor one of Dr. King's important messages: We, as individuals, can make a difference in the lives of others and our communities.
