Update on annual tests of emergency response plans

During the fall semester, the UAA Office of Emergency Management (OEM) conducted federally required annual tests of the university’s emergency plans. More specifically, UAA tested its emergency evacuation capabilities.

IT Desktop and Telecommunication Rates for FY22

The Center for Human Development is seeking applications for a Research Professional. This individual will work as part of the Center's research and evaluation team to complete project objectives. Requirements include the ability to organize, plan, and design, research/evaluation activities, analyze and synthesize results, and write project reports.

In Memory of Professor Emeritus Bill Workman

One of the pillars of northern anthropology and longtime UAA Professor of Anthropology, William B. Workman, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021. He was 81.

Consortium Library temporarily out of at-home COVID-19 test kits

UAA Risk Management has provided the Consortium Library with Home COVID-19 test kits to distribute to students, staff, and faculty. The kits include two rapid home tests offering results within 15 minutes. These are best used if you are experiencing symptoms. Please come to the Main Circulation Desk to pick up the test kits for you and your family at your earliest convenience.

UAA Theatre presents student-directed Holiday Scenes

This semester's Directing I class invites UAA faculty, staff, and students to attend a series of four 10-minute student-directed holiday scenes. Performances are at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, in the Mainstage Theatre in the UAA Fine Arts Building. Admission is free.

Dec. 2: Chancellor’s Holiday Party rolls through campus

The Chancellor’s holiday café will be rolling through campus Thursday, Dec. 2, 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Enjoy Kaladi Bros. coffee, Krispy Kreme doughnuts and prizes. The café will be making scheduled stops along the way at the following locations:

ISER at 60 Special Topics: The Permanent Fund Dividend - Past, Present and Future

ISER turned 60 in 2021 and the Permanent Fund turns 45 this month. To acknowledge both milestones and ISER's work related to the Permanent Fund Dividend, the Institute will present a webinar event, "Permanent Fund Dividend: Past, Present and Future," on Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 5:30-7 p.m.

CAFE Lunch & Learn: Fostering an Age-inclusive Classroom and Campus Community

In this session, we will discuss some of the international principles for an age-friendly university (AFU) community that we can embrace in our teaching, research, and service to ensure older learners (aged 50+ years) are included and valued.
