Until recently, the relationship between commercial fishing and the economies of Alaska’s coastal communities have been explored anecdotally. But a newly published study from researchers with UAA’s Institute of Social and Economic Research aims to bridge that gap.

The University of Alaska Anchorage is experiencing an increase in vishing, which is the phone equivalent to email phishing. In this type of attack, bad actors use a recorded message, typically from frequently used services such as Amazon or Apple, to con you into giving out personal information.

Business leaders donate $1M to College of Business and Public Policy

The gift from Gary and Jane Klopfer is the largest, individual gift an alum has given to UAA during his or her lifetime and will establish the UAA Student Investment Fund, giving students real-world experience using financial industry tools, establishing UAA as a leading finance hub of the University of Alaska system.
