Open forums for finalists for the College of Arts & Sciences Dean position

As chairs of the UAA CAS Dean search committee, we are pleased to announce the finalists for the position and the process for virtual campus visits April 12-16. Our search generated international interest and produced a large set of initial applicants. Over several weeks, committee members reviewed the applications and interviewed the most qualified individuals, leading us to the advancement of four outstanding finalists.

Hiroko Harada awarded 2021 Northwest Postsecondary Educator of the Year

Bestowed by the Pacific Northwest Council for Languages, the Ray Verzasconi Northwest Postsecondary Educator of the Year award recognizes outstanding teaching, service or research at the university level within Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington or Wyoming.

April 18-24 is Careers in Aging Week!

People are living longer and populations are aging worldwide. The demand for professionals with expertise in aging is growing rapidly. "Careers in Aging Week" is observed every year by businesses, clinics, coalitions, organizations, universities and others across the world. The goal is to bring greater awareness and visibility to the wide-ranging career opportunities in the field of aging. Check out the UAA/APU Consortium Library's monthly resource table in the main rotunda dedicated to Careers in Aging, all through April!
