Implicit bias training workshop offered

Alaska EPSCoR, Alaska INBRE and the UAF Dept of Equity and Compliance are collaborating to offer a three-part implicit bias workshop this month. Part 1 is a virtual viewing of the film "Picture a Scientist" at a time that fits your schedule March 25-27. Part 2 is a panel discussion on March 28, 11 a.m.

UAA will hold 'Reunion Commencement' for pandemic grads

In advance of spring commencement, the University of Alaska Anchorage will hold a special ceremony at the Alaska Airlines Center for students whose commencement ceremonies were held virtually in 2020 and 2021.

I’m pleased to announce that UAA alumna Memry Dahl will serve as the system’s new Chief Human Resources Officer. She will begin on April 13, will be based in Anchorage, and is committed to spending adequate time in Fairbanks and Juneau.

Paid summer environmental and wildlife positions available through UAA!

Beginning in April, the University of Alaska Anchorage’s Applied Environmental Research Center (AERC) will be recruiting for motivated individuals who love to spend Alaska summer outdoors. The AERC will be recruiting for seasonal research participants to perform various field research projects ranging from a variety of forestry work to collecting data on specific environmental projects on Joint-Base Elmendorf Richardson.

March 30: Economics and Policy with Chancellor Parnell

The Econ Club is hosting Chancellor Parnell as a guest speaker. As you all may know, Chancellor Parnell served as the governor of Alaska prior to his current position. He will be speaking on his experience as the governor, focusing on Alaska's economy and public policy.
