Course Design Reminders
Sign up for a six-week series of emails highlighting resources and suggested activities to design or update your course, as well as reminders about support opportunities. The series has two start dates:

  • June 1 (runs through July 6)
  • July 6 (runs through Aug. 10)

Work Sessions
Wednesdays, June 1-Aug. 10, 9:30 a.m.-noon
Course Design Community on Zoom (Meeting ID: 832 8409 3584, Passcode: 825158)
Thinking about how to organize an online course? Looking for final project ideas? Join us each week for:

  • Course Design Discussion, 9:30-10 a.m. (Zoom). Bring your questions!
  • Community Work Time, 10 a.m.-noon (Zoom and LIB 213). Work on your courses with instructional designers and colleagues on hard to answer questions as they arise. (If the course design discussion is still going, it will move to a breakout room so other Zoomers can focus.)

Upcoming Course Design Workshops
As you look ahead to next semester, the recommendations in Best Practices in Flexible Course Content can help you streamline your Blackboard courses for easier teaching this fall and prepare them for an eventual conversion to another platform.

These sessions will walk through applying those practices, with work time to update your own courses:

Reusing Your Blackboard Courses I: Decluttering
Tuesday, June 21, 1-2 p.m.
Delivered via Zoom (Registration available in June)
Clean up your course content and Grade Center to simplify reuse and prepare courses for reuse. This workshop is strongly recommended for instructors who have copied a course for multiple terms.

Reusing Your Blackboard Courses II: Course Copy & Updating
Wednesday, June 22, 1-2 p.m.
Delivered via Zoom (Registration available in June)
Walk through copying your course and updating your content, availability, and due dates. You do not need to participate in the Decluttering workshop to benefit from this one!

July Workshops (dates and details coming soon)

  • Reusing Your Blackboard Courses I & II (repeat)
  • Quality Matters: Improving Your Online Course
  • Flexible Course Content I: Using Google Apps
  • Flexible Course Content II: Organizing Videos
