Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine: One Year Later

The College of Business and Public Policy and the Institute of Social and Economic Research are co-hosting an online seminar with Dr. Chad Briggs on Monday, Feb. 27, from 12-1 p.m.

During “Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine: One Year Later,” Dr. Briggs will discuss the past year since the Russian escalation of its invasion of Ukraine, including security and energy implications for the United States and Alaska. A Q&A will follow.

Dr. Briggs is formerly the Director of Graduate Studies at UAA's College of Business and Public Policy, and has worked with NATO and the Ukrainian army since 2011 on hybrid and cyber warfare, including being based in Kosovo and Ukraine for 4 years before moving to Alaska in 2019. He currently works in Alexandria, Virginia, cooperating with Ukrainian colleagues on assessing the war, and planning for reconstruction of the country.
