June 13 Emergency Management Exercise
by Green & Gold News |
On June 13, UAA and community partners will be holding a full-scale exercise focusing
on hazardous materials releases and active aggressor response. The exercise will take
place in the Seawolf Sports Complex. It should be expected that access to the SWSC will be limited to exercise participants
and designated SWSC staff. Surrounding buildings (RH, SU) will still be accessible
to students, staff, and faculty. Those on campus should expect to see a large presence
of law enforcement/ military personnel and will likely hear simulated gunfire, shouting
and evacuation alarms. For the safety of yourself and exercise participants, it is
advised that you avoid the area in/surrounding the SWSC. This exercise is being conducted
to fulfill the University’s annual CLERY emergency procedures testing requirements.
Additional communication will be provided to departments and students that may be
directly impacted by the exercise.
