UAA was ready because of you — thank you!
by Green & Gold News |
Dear UAA Community,
As you know, UAA is undergoing its regular reaffirmation of accreditation with the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). We recently hosted accreditors from NWCCU, which provided an opportunity to demonstrate our institutional strength and commitment to student success.
Because of you, UAA was ready! Thank you to our incredible students, faculty and staff who came together to prepare for this week's NWCCU accreditation site visit. Your dedication and teamwork demonstrated how UAA puts students first and transforms lives. In fact, the evaluators acknowledged our exemplary commitment to our dual mission and our focus of putting students first in all that we do. As well as our well-established and effective culture of assessment to meaningfully drive student success and gave praise on the library's extensive service to our students and outreach to the community.
I extend a special note of gratitude to the Accreditation Advisory Committee, led by tri-chairs Susan Kalina, vice provost for Academic Affairs and Institutional Effectiveness, Terrence Kelly, associate professor in the Department of Philosophy and Carrie King, professor in the Dietetics and Nutrition Program. Your outstanding leadership and direction have been crucial throughout this journey.
Thank you for your continued dedication to our students and UAA community. Your incredible effort and collaboration led to an exceptional outcome. As a university community we’ve demonstrated our shared commitment of putting students first and what’s possible for UAA now and into the future. I’m inspired by all that lies ahead, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
With gratitude,
Cheryl Siemers
