Anchorage (Nov. 30) – Senior center Tori Hollingshead and junior guard Elaina Mack scored 17 points apiece to pace Alaska Anchorage to an 83-44 women’s basketball victory over South Dakota Mines on Saturday night at the Alaska Airlines Center.

Community Engaged Faculty Mini-grant Request for Proposals

The Center for Community Engagement & Learning (CCEL) has released a request for proposals for the CCEL faculty mini-grant program. Faculty can request up to $1000 for community-engaged activities. Funded projects include engaged scholarship, pedagogy and professional partnerships with community organizations that incorporate the principles of reciprocity and respect for community knowledge with research or creative activity.

ConocoPhillips Alaska donates $2 million to create the Alaska Leaders Archive at UAA

Chancellor Sean Parnell,  Lily Stevens Becker, Sen. Stevens’ daughter and executive director of the Ted Stevens Foundation, and ConocoPhillips Alaska President Erec Isaacson with a check as UAA announces a $2 million donation from ConocoPhillips Alaska to the Ted Stevens Foundation to create the Alaska Leaders Archive at the UAA/APU Consortium Library.

The creation of the Alaska Leaders Archive at the UAA/APU Consortium Library — made possible by ConocoPhillips Alaska’s recent $2 million donation to the Ted Stevens Foundation — will involve multi-phase construction and renovation at the library to add state-of-the-art archival facilities, a teaching area and space to display items from the collections of Sen. Stevens and other Alaska leaders.
