Update on Fall 2020 Applications and Availability
Due to the impacts of COVID-19, on-campus housing at UAA will operate at a reduced capacity and with limited services in fall 2020. Only residents meeting certain exception criteria will be approved to live on-campus. Due to the reduced capacity and the number of applications already received, On-Campus Living will stop accepting new fall 2020 housing applications June 19, 2020. After June 19, interested students can complete a form to request that they be added to a wait list in the event that the current pandemic subsides and housing is able to open up more fully. Please see the How-to-Apply web page for more information.
The Centers for Disease Control has indicated that high-density congregate housing is risky due to the infectious nature of COVID-19. We have seen recent outbreaks in other high-density housing facilities in Anchorage. At this time, we recommend students pursue other off campus housing arrangements in non-congregate environments.OCL understands the burden this places on students and their families and are looking forward to a time in the future where we can again accommodate students with the high quality and engaging residential experience we are known for. If you have any questions regarding this information, please do not hesitate to contact On-Campus Living at 907-751-7202 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Explore Options for Living on Campus
When you live on campus, your classes, the library, and campus activities are just a short walk, bike ride or shuttle ride away. With on campus housing you also have the added conveniences of on-site laundry facilities, cafeteria, and convenience store located right withing your housing complex.
Consider the hidden costs of living off campus: large security deposits, cable hook-ups, heating and electricity bills, groceries, trash removal fees, gas and transportation costs, etc. Now consider living on campus: with only a $300 deposit, and your cable, internet, heating, electricity, trash removal, and basic maintenance all included in one predictable semester charge. Plus with the addition of a meal plan, you won't have to spend your time grocery shopping or cooking!
