Application Process

The Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Studies, along with a subcommittee of the Vice Provost's Research Council, reviews all applications for the INNOVATE Award program. The purpose of the INNOVATE Awards is to enhance research and entrepreneurship across the UAA campus. The INNOVATE grant will provide up to $200,000 to UAA faculty members and researchers in its program. All tenured and tenure-track faculty at UAA who have a research component as a part of their approved workload are eligible to apply. Exceptions may be granted to other faculty with strong research and/or creative ideas; these individuals are encouraged to contact the VPRGS to discuss their proposals. Proposals from all disciplines are welcome. The awards are announced in December and funding begins in January.
