Alaska Native & Rural Outreach Program (ANROP) Coordinator
Karla Booth is Tsimshian of the Raven Clan. She considers the communities of Metlakatla, Alaska; Kake, Alaska and Seattle, Washington as home. As the Alaska Native & Rural Outreach Program (ANROP) Coordinator, she provides outreach and support to campus residents who identify as being from an Alaska community. As the Cama-i Room Coordinator, Karla coordinates programs and activities that have an Alaska Native, Native American, and Alaskan cultural focus. Karla is accessible to students in the afternoon and early evenings. She values perpetuating cultural pride and self-confidence in students. Karla enjoys celebrating indigenous cultures, providing education about the first people of Alaska, making fry bread, doing arts and crafts, and performing with the Lepquinm Gumilgit Gagoadim Tsimshian Dancers. A fun fact about Karla: she is a new mother!

At UAA, Karla participates with the weekly Indigenous Values Discussion and the Alaska Native/Native American Heritage Month planning committee.
