Question for Betty.

How long does it take STI results to get back to the Student Health and Counseling Center?

Betty's Answer.

Results for sexually transmitted infection (STI or STD) testing at UAA Student Health and Counseling Center return in 2 days to a maximum of 4 weeks, depending on the test. The tests are sent to the State of Alaska Laboratory, unless students request otherwise.  Sometimes students prefer more immediate results and we can send labs to Quest Laboratory, these are at a higher cost. Students are notified by their preferred method (by phone or mail) of any positive results, as soon as we receive the results.

Health Care Providers may wait until all the results are back to notify the patient of negative results.
